Measure and Find Color

The best approach is to use a spectrophotometer. A popular option is the ColorChecker Studio (formerly ColorMunki), but the same software supports most measurement devices, including high-end spectrophotometers.

Visit our partner, ChromaChecker, at www.chromachecker.com.
You can review the list of currently supported instruments there.

Download the latest version of CC Capture, connect your device to the computer, and launch the software in trial mode.
The trial comes with certain limitations, but it is completely free to use and does not require registration.

Once your device is recognized, perform the necessary calibration — follow the instructions specific to your instrument.

After calibration, you’re ready to begin. Press the Measure button (either on your device or within the interface).
Next, open the Designer tab to view the closest matching ChromaSpot code, along with the reported color difference.

You may also explore the other tabs. For example, the CII (Color Inconstancy Index) view shows how the measured color shifts under different lighting conditions.

If you want to create a professional color definition rather than rely on a single reading, choose Start Variation.
This will capture a series of measurements while repositioning the instrument. Small differences between readings are expected.
The software will then calculate averages and display statistical results.
